Statement on BLM

Silence is compliance and it's time I spoke up.

In America and all over the world, people are facing threats for simply just not being white.

George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Ahmaud Arbery. Sean Reed. Tony McDade. And countless others. Literally countless because we don't know how many there have really been. All murdered due to the systemic racism in the US.

There is racism rampant in this country and you are blind if you don't see it. You are heartless if you don't care. You are compliant if you don't speak out. So I will say it:

Black Lives MATTER.

To think anything otherwise is to be immoral, inhumane and just plain racist.

We have been watching Black people die for FAR too long. What are we going to do about it? What are YOU going to do about it?

If you don't know where to start, here are some ideas:

Vote.

I don't mean just in the general election. The changes we need come from the state and local levels. Mayors, county executives, judges, attorney generals, and more. Many states have elections THIS MONTH with candidates in these positions. Do your research and vote for change.

Vote with your dollar.

Do not support companies that do not support BLM or that support organizations and politicians that do not support BLM. Yes, this includes the President of the United States. Here are some lists:

DO support companies that do support the BLM movement and have donated. Here is a list:

(Some companies show up on both sides, ex. AT&T and Amazon. Do more research and draw your on conclusions on whether you want to support these companies or not).

Donate.

  • 17 year old Nico has aggregated a list of places to donate (as well as a huge wealth of other info) on their carrd here:

  • No money? Watch this video. Ad revenue from it supports the BLM movement. It also features a plethora of Black artists to check out:

Support Black-owned businesses and restaurants.

Here are some resources to find such establishments:

Educate yourself.

"The police have long enjoyed an exalted role in American society." It's time to end it.
